The goal of Hyperwords to shorten the distance between curiosity and knowledge, between intent and result.
In other words, help knowledge workers move more effectively through their information environment, gather useful information and have better access to better tools.
Mapping Workflow Functions to Commands
We model the knowledge work cycle quite simply as finding useful information while avoiding useless information, reading and digesting information, analyzing information and discussing and producing new information. This has been outlined in the Feature Map Diagram.
Interaction Modes
A key benefit of Hyperwords is how it brings services from all over the web as well as tools together in a quickly accessible, coherent command system. If it's useful, then we belive it should be but a click away.
Driving that goal further, it becomes an issue how different types of information are made available. The difference, in terms of what it's like to use the system day in and day out, between the result of a command coming up on a new web page or being shown in the menu itself is dramatic. The Presentation Mode page addresses this problem.
In the end though, we are going in circles trying to alternatively broaden and define how we can better help you deal with the colossal amounts of information available, allowing you do perform better knowledge work.
